Roadmap to full manufacturing autonomy
PHASE 1 – INTRODUCTION OF AUTONOMOUS MACHINING TECHNOLOGY (2018)
By creating the software to autonomously control a single CNC Machine, we proved that costly, inefficient and error-prone areas of production can be streamlined and improved. It’s a bold first step towards full autonomy that rethinks decades-long ways of working.
PHASE 2 – INTRODUCTION OF AUTONOMOUS FACTORY PROCESSES (2020)
By combining diverse fields of AI, computer science and robotics, we solve highly complex computational problems that allow us to introduce autonomy into factory processes like never before. In short, we are creating the world’s most advanced and efficient factory, and making strides towards full autonomy.
PHASE 3 – OUR FIRST FULLY AUTONOMOUS FACTORY
From scheduling of work to inspections, loading of raw materials and even dispatch of finished goods – our ability to optimise factory operations end-to-end is complete – achieving unprecedented levels of efficiency and autonomy.
PHASE 4 – FULLY AUTONOMOUS SUPPLY CHAIN
Our tech moves into different areas of the supply chain. From understanding and anticipating demand to the purchase of raw materials, production and the transportation of finished goods for delivery – we introduce autonomy at every stage in the supply chain.
LEVEL 5 – SELF-REPLICATING MANUFACTURING
By understanding capacity across multiple factories and being able to predict and optimise production in response to demand, we’re able to maximise efficiency. Our AI understands when to add new machinery and even when to build new factories – balancing load and self-replicating as and when required.
END GOAL – COMPLETE END-TO-END AUTONOMOUS MANUFACTURING
We envisage a world with super cheap, super-efficient and super green manufacturing where resource use is drastically reduced. People can access exactly what they need and get the highest quality parts made on demand and with minimal impact on the planet – accelerating humanity sustainably.
