What does it mean to be pioneering at CloudNC? Today we hear from Martyna Meah, Senior Buyer, based in our Manufacturing high spec Factory in Chelmsford, on what this means to her and how she achieves this in and out of work.
What attracted you to work within the Procurement sector?
Providing help and advice to both internal stakeholders and suppliers to increase value and drive down costs.
No day is ever the same, and I enjoy the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
What motivated you to join CloudNC?
Throughout the interview, onboarding process and onwards I was drawn to the great people, the culture and the supportive management team and the strategy at CloudNC.
How has this opportunity helped your career ambitions?
Whilst I have been working within procurement for over 14 years, the transition to CloudNC has enabled me to broaden my skill set, by being exposed to projects within a new industry, for example, enhancements to our Chelmsford office through CSR initiatives.
I am continually learning in a new industry, whilst being able to put Kaizen practices into place ensuring that we develop long-term solutions and effective relationships.
What are your responsibilities as a Senior Buyer?
I manage the availability of raw materials, bought-in finished goods and subcontract services. I also focus on suppliers' capability to improve the resilience of CloudNC supply, enabling us to continue to exceed customer expectations in relation to the speed of delivery, whilst not compromising our quality.
How does CloudNC’s culture align with your values?
I would describe the culture at CloudNC as resilient to challenges and a commitment to excellence, which aligns with my passion for sport.
What drives your passion for physical fitness? And how does this impact your mental health?
My passion is to be healthy by living a healthy lifestyle, keeping fit with challenges, and being a positive role model for my daughter. Physical activity for me is a great outlet for stress and fills me with positive endorphins and energy to tackle the rest of my day.
As a working parent, how do you create balance?
This is always a challenge, but I make sure that I include my daughter as much as possible with my training, for example, when I am running, she is cycling beside me or when she is taking part in any clubs, I am out training.
Can you break down what a week looks like for you?
I am part of a triathlon club and train with them 3 days a week, I also run or cycle after work, in addition, I go for a long run on a Saturday morning for 2 hours and a cycle on a Sunday morning for an average of 60 miles - the rest of the weekend is family time.
What has been your greatest fitness achievement?
I have completed a marathon and a half iron man, the next challenge is a full iron man and I am planning Everest base camp!
