 CloudNC achieves SOC2 compliance

CloudNC has achieved an important security milestone, SOC 2 Type I, demonstrating our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data security, availability and confidentiality.

SOC2 Type I is an attestation an organization can obtain to show that there are good systems and processes in place to protect and safeguard data.

The process of obtaining it involves an in-depth review of CloudNC’s data security processes by an independent party, at a specific point in time, to make sure that the systems are designed well. CloudNC’s audit was carried out by Assurance Lab, and we now plan to seek to achieve SOC2 Type II, which measures data integrity on an ongoing basis.

Accreditations and compliance

Separately to SOC2, CloudNC is working to achieve a range of certifications and compliances that will allow us to serve a broader range of customers in the highly regulated defense and aerospace sectors in the US and worldwide.

Compliance to these will enable CloudNC to handle sensitive technical data and materials essential for manufacturing critical components in these industries on behalf of its customers.

As the US looks to reshore high-value manufacturing capabilities, particularly in defense and aerospace, many manufacturers now require their suppliers to be compliant with current and forthcoming regulatory standards to protect sensitive data.

For example, precision manufacturing of defense and aerospace components often involves handling controlled technical data and materials that fall under specific regulation. Therefore, compliance is crucial for ensuring secure, authorized access to sensitive information, protecting against both accidental and deliberate data exposure.

CloudNC's advanced CNC machining technology is well-suited to producing these highly sensitive components. Achieving compliances will allow the company to meet the growing demand for secure, precision manufacturing in industries that require strict regulatory oversight, while remaining agile and supporting those companies’ needs with market-leading AI.

Dr Andy Cheadle, CTO of CloudNC, said: “SOC2 Type I attestation is another important step in our compliance journey. Manufacturers across the US are eager to adopt our solutions, but many of them require the highest levels of certification and compliance, to ensure the secure handling of sensitive data and parts. Achieving these milestones will give our customers confidence in our ability to meet their most stringent regulatory and security requirements.”
